Private Water Supplies

Private Water Supplies
The owner of a private water supply is responsible for its treatment and ensuring the water meets the requirements of the Private Water Supplies Regulations 2016.
Poorly managed private water supplies may be supplying contaminated water that could cause illness.

The Private Water Supplies Regulations have been designed to safeguard the health of consumers, but often private water supply owners need help complying with them.

Local Authority Environmental Health Departments have a responsibility to inspect and sample private water supplies to ensure that they provide wholesome drinking water and that the Private Water Supplies Regulations are being fulfilled. If required, they are able to serve notices to ensure
remedial action is taken to protect human health or make the water wholesome.

Landmark Environmental are able to offer assistance to owners of private water supplies or to Local Authorities who may not have the expertise or resources to conduct the risk assessments.

We offer consultancy and project management in the following areas of water resources management:

    • Private Water Supply Risk Assessments
